We recently visited Bovey Tracey Bowling Club which was a fantastic opportunity for the children to engage in a fun, active, and social experience outside the classroom. The trip was designed to promote physical coordination, teamwork, and community spirit in a relaxed and enjoyable setting.
Upon arrival, we were warmly welcomed by the club staff, who provided a brief introduction to the game, safety guidelines, and basic techniques. The children then took part in several rounds of bowling.
Throughout the session, the children developed a range of valuable skills:
Maths: Understanding the scoring system and tracking progress
The trip fostered a strong sense of community among children and staff. The inclusive nature of bowling allowed everyone to participate, regardless of ability or experience. Laughter, encouragement, and friendly competition created a positive atmosphere that strengthened peer relationships and built confidence.
The club itself played a key role in this experience, offering a welcoming environment and demonstrating how local venues can support our children.
We were so grateful for the time and effort members of the club put in to make this experience a thoroughly enjoyable one for the year 6 children.
